Mascot Brewery in Etobicoke is a hidden gem. I found this local brewery on Advance Road recently, and it's a great place to unwind with a cold beer.

The Space

The atmosphere is laid-back the moment you walk in. The décor is modern and the room is full of natural light, especially on the sunny, warm spring day I went. It's a perfect place to relax and catch up with friends.

The Beer

After a lot of deliberating, I chose two:

  • Watermelon Beet Sour (4.5% ABV): refreshing and fruity, with a hint of watermelon.
  • Enchanté Black Currant Wheat (4.5% ABV): smooth and creamy, with a subtle black currant note.

Both were delightful and unique, and I wanted more.

The Food

To go with the beer I ordered the Mascot Double Smash Cheeseburger, fresh-cut fries and the Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and well made. The burger was juicy and flavourful, the fries were crispy and well seasoned, and the chicken sandwich was crunchy outside, moist inside and had a nice spicy kick.

The Service

What I loved most was the staff. They knew the beer list and the menu, happily made recommendations and went out of their way to make me feel welcome.
